Oliver Wallop, was a member of the first
group of Wyoming players in the late 1800's. A former
U.S. Senator from Wyoming, Malcolm was Captain of the
Yale University team which won an intercollegiate title.
Two of Malcolm's sons and a daughter,
who are actually 4th generation players, played polo
in Hig Horn. Game announcer, Sam Morton, was quick to
add that there were three other families in attandance
who also have 4th generation players; the MacCartys',
the Johnstons' and the Beals'.
Skey Johnston's grandson, Will, played
in the earlier consolation match. Big Horn native, Martin
MacCarty, who manages Johnston's Flying H Ranch, now
plays with his family's 4th generation players, son
Ford and nephews Will and Ty. Kelly and Chris Beal from
Texas are playing this summer in Wyoming with their
family's 4th generation player, daughter K.C.
